The Nikon D700

I'm having a love affair with my new Nikon D700 because of its great low light capability.  Above is a photo of Katherine boarding the Metro at the Dupont Circle station in Washington, DC.  The station is quite dark.  There has been no post processing of the photo to reduce noise.  For all practical purposes there is none.

When I have taken the same photo before with other cameras, there was so much noise in the photo that it was barely usable.

I can also take photos inside the car with a fast enough shutter speed to avoid blurring.

The National Craft Show

In April, we went to Washington, DC to visit the National Craft Show, held in what is now called the National Building Museum—part of the Smithsonian Museum.  (A number of us ancient codgers still call this the Old Pension Building.)

This is an overall view.  The floor has been divided into booths for the different craftsmen.  Click on the photo to see it full size.
